City and Guilds Work with Parents Vocational Qualifications

The ARISE Academy uses the City and Guilds Award and Certificate in Work with Parents (3599) as its awarding body for vocational qualifications at Level 3 and 4.

These vocational qualifications aim to equip individuals with essential knowledge and skills to help them be effective in delivering frontline parenting services and working with parents.

The City and Guilds Work with Parents qualifications comprise units of learning that each have a number of credits attached.  On the QCF Framework an Award requires Level 3 candidates to achieve between 6 -12 credits, Certificate candidates are required to achieve 13 -30 credits and  Diploma candidates should achieve 37 credits or more.

It is expected that candidates should accumulate credits over a period of time as they develop their vocational practice. On the Qualification and Credits Framework candidates may add Work with Parents units to other qualification units in other areas they may have already acquired.

At Level 3 candidates are expected to cover the mandatory Unit 300 "Build and maintain relationships with parents" which gains 6 credits and then add further 6 credits towards an Award through a selection of further units that best equip them for their practice role.

At Level 4 candidates are expected to cover the mandatory Unit 400 "Build and maintain relationships with parents" which achieves a 6 credit core Award and they then may add two more units to gain an Award in "Intense Support for families with complex and multiple needs".
